学校概况
挪威首都奥斯陆是挪威的政治 、经济、文化中心。 位于挪威东南部，奥斯陆峡湾北端，周围是挪威最重要的工农业区，水陆交通方便。市区面积453平方千米，人口46万。按奥斯陆城市集聚区人口计划集中了全国1／6的人口。四周多山，山间森林繁茂，属亚寒带针叶林气候，比挪威西海岸寒冷、干燥。1月平均气温－3.5℃，7月16.9℃，积雪期120天，年平均降水量740毫米，各月分配较均匀。始建于1024年，初为挪威南部木材、毛皮等贸易站。城内多木质建筑，多次焚于大火。19世纪以后 ，城市迅速发展，1841年定为首都。1850年成为全国第一大城市。1854年起，陆续建成通达国内各主要区域的铁路，1900年成为全国第一大港。1801年全市不足1万人，1910年22.5万人，20世纪50～60年代，人口保持在48万左右，后随着郊区化，人口有所减少。全市的国民生产总值、工业总产值和商品零售额均占全国的1／4左右，银行交易额和批发额则占全国的半数。工业有金属、机械、电子、纺织、食品等部门。航运业发达，港口年吞吐量700万吨。文化教育发达，设施齐全。挪威最大的奥斯陆大学就坐落在此。
据亦邦留学网介绍：奥斯陆大学成立于1811年，当时挪威还在丹麦的统治之下。奥斯陆大学是挪威规模最大最古老的高等学府，在研究领域占有重要的学术地位。奥斯陆大学现有30000名学生（包括获得博士学位的学生），来自世界各地的国际学生大约有2000名，教员大约有5700多名。该校有8个学院，56个系，还有许多诊所，研究中心和博物馆，提供40多个英文授课的硕士项目。学校每年授予3600个学位 ，其中包括350个博士学位。奥斯陆大学曾培养了4名诺贝尔奖的得主，这充分显示了他研究的实力。
